Mainstage lineup for Lambeth Country Show 2022, July 16-17 – full details – Brixton Buzz

The lineup has been announced for the main stage of this year’s Lambeth Country Show, with 70s disco kings Heatwave topping the early evening Saturday slot and reggae legend Horace Andy headlining Sunday .

Here are all the details:

Saturday July 16

2 p.m.: Brixton Chamber Orchestra

Brixton Chamber Orchestra is a versatile group of instrumentalists who deliver exciting live orchestral experiences to a wide audience in Brixton and beyond. They champion orchestral music, introducing it to new audiences in unexpected places. They revel in innovative collaborations with all kinds of artists and genres – Grime to Gospel, Disco to Drum and Bass, Classical to Jazz, and everything in between.

3:30 p.m.: Devins feat. Akin Soul & Youthsayers

Brixton’s Afrobeat mash up features Afro Soul alumni Akin with members of Southsayers and acclaimed local music education project Youthsayers; a music performance and education group based in South London.

5 p.m.: Floetic Lara aka Lara Lee

Local resident Lara and her band focus on “wellness through music”. An accomplished singer, spoken word artist and entrepreneur, FLO seeks to meaningfully engage and educate her audience, reminding them of the possibilities of life and the power of love.

6:30 p.m.: Heat wave

Original ’70s disco funk known for hits like ‘Boogie Nights’, ‘The Groove Line’ and ‘Always and Forever’. Dust off your flares and bring your best dancing shoes. It’s Saturday night fever in Brockwell Park.

Sunday July 17

2 p.m.: The Trojans

Specializing in ska and reggae with a touch of soul, funk, R&B and global roots, The Trojans were formed in late 1986 and still tour Lambeth today following their busy schedule.

3:30 p.m.: Empresses of Roots, Soul & Reggae: Teshay Makeda, Aysha Loren, Dionne Reid and Roots Souljah’s Band

A powerful all-female lineup celebrating the best of roots, soul and reggae.

5 p.m.: Cleveland Watkiss MBE

Multi-award winning singer, actor and songwriter Cleveland Watkiss MBE joins us for the first time to explore Jamaica’s long history of pioneering music, including mento, reggae, ska and more. Featuring classic tracks from legendary artists such as Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown and Delroy Wilson, The Great Jamaican Songbook tells poignant stories of time and culture, with deep, infectious rhythm.

6:30 p.m.: Horace Andy & Dub Asante Band feat. Matic horns

Original ‘skylarkin’ reggae legend and sweet vocals of Massive Attack, live from Jamaica, singing his hits and celebrating his new album ‘Midnight Rockers’ (On-U-Sound). A magnificent weekend finale.
