A small North Texas town is gearing up for one of the biggest Independence Day fireworks and air shows in the country, Addison Kaboom Town! He arrives on July 3 in the small 4.4-square-mile city of Addison, which has a population of 16,000.

Addison is a northern suburb of Dallas, home to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, which houses the most extensive collection of flying combat aircraft in the Southwest.
More than 500,000 fans besiege the city each year for Addison Kaboom Town, rated one of the top three fireworks displays in the country by AOL.com. With nearly 200 restaurants and a population of less than 16,000, Addison has more restaurants per capita than any city in the United States and hosts more than 150 special events annually.
What’s going on in the town of Addison Kaboom?
The Kaboom Town celebration takes place across the city, with watch parties at over 200 restaurants, 22 hotels and a fantastic limited-capacity party in the 12-acre Addison Circle park. Watch fireworks and the amazing Addison Air Show from anywhere in town.
The 25-minute fireworks show is the largest in the country and is simulcast on Star 102.1 FM. Before the Kaboom fireworks, listen to energetic music in Addison Circle Park from the Razzmajazz Dixieland Jazz Band, the Walton Stout Band and the Jordan Kahn Orchestra, who will perform after the fireworks.
The event runs from 5-11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2022, with doors opening in Addison Circle Park at 5 p.m. Bands play from 5 to 7 p.m.; then, at 7:30 am, the air show begins with many vintage aircraft, specialty aircraft, parachute jumpers and dynamic aerobatic displays. Planes take off from Addison Airport, with flight paths visible throughout the city.
Pro Tip: The best view will be from restaurants and hotel watch parties along Belt Line Road and the Dallas North Tollway.
The patriotic presentation of the colors and the national anthem takes place at 8 p.m. The Jordan Kahn Orchestra performs at 8:30 a.m. and the fireworks begin at 9:30 a.m. with the orchestra playing the final hour until 11 a.m.
New this year at Addison Circle Park is the Caliber Auto Care Splash Zone, where you can cool off and splash around among various inflatable water slides, an obstacle course and a giant zipline. You can buy an unlimited bracelet on site to play in the water from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
