The Sheryl Trailer Follows the Iconic Career of Country Musician Sheryl Crow

Showtime Documentary Films has unveiled the trailer for Sherylan intimate film that chronicles the life and career of the music superstar Sheryl Raven. The film has its world premiere tonight at SXSW, then hits our screens in early May. The documentary is set to reveal the artist’s all-time highs and lows, with experiences and thoughts revealed by the singer herself on camera.

The trailer for Sheryl reveals that the “All I Wanna Do” and “If It Makes You Happy” singer has always been deeply involved in the production of her songs, albums and tours, but being a perfectionist has certainly taken its toll. Along with battling sexism, ageism, and the price of fame, the documentary also reveals an intimate look at the artist’s battle with cancer and his struggle with depression.


The documentary trailer also reveals that it will be a wild ride for fans of Crow’s work, as it brings tons of footage from the singer’s personal life and behind-the-scenes footage from events and concerts, spanning 20 years of her travel. The film also features interviews with Sheryl’s close friends, such as the music superstar Keith RichardsOscar winner Laura Dern, Joe Walsh, Emmylou Harris, Brandi Carlileand others.

Sheryl is led by Amy Scott, who is making his second film. She was previously an editor who worked on Netflix The gardians and other music-related projects such as Punk rock is synonymous with freedom and Other Musicabout an independent music record store that changed the New York cultural scene.

Alongside the premiere of the documentary, Ume/Big Machine Records will also be releasing a special album titled Sheryl: music for the feature documentary the same day of the Showtime premiere. As you can imagine, the album will contain Sheryl Crow’s most famous hits, including “My Favorite Mistake”, “Redemption Day”, “Soak Up the Sun” and many more.
