Emmaus High School Students to Participate in All-State Honors Music Ensemble – East Penn School District

Emmaus High School students have achieved the highest level a high school musician can achieve by earning a spot in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Festival Music Ensembles.

Each year, thousands of musicians from high schools across the state audition in their geographic area. Individually, the students perform in front of a jury. The highest-ranking student musicians advance to compete against student musicians from other parts of the PMEA regions. The top-ranked student musicians in the PMEA region qualify to perform in one of Pennsylvania’s six all-state music ensembles.

“We congratulate the student musicians who are part of the 2022 PMEA All-State Festival,” commented Phil Stattel, PMEA president and retired music teacher. “We know the past two years have been difficult for all students and for these students, meeting the challenges to perform at the highest level is to be celebrated.”

The students, Sophia Isom and Julia McDonnell, from Emmaus High School, will perform in the All-State Wind Ensemble and Orchestra Ensemble.

Qualifying student musicians will perform at the annual PMEA All-State Festival at the Kalahari Resort in The Poconos, Pennsylvania on April 8-9, 2022. Nationally recognized conductors at the convention lead the bands which rehearse for two days and end with a performance. .
