Tue 12, 9 p.m.: Kayan group, founded by Azmy, interprets English and oriental music. The group members are Azmy (violinist), Hamdoon (percussion), Elagar (array), Hadder Elgamal (Drums), Ghadir Elgamal (Keyboardist), emad (bass guitar) and pianist Mary Aziz.

Sat 9, 9-11 p.m.: The marvelous musicians of Makan to know Mazaher The ensemble consisting of Umm Sameh, Umm Hassan and Nour Al-Sabah will perform Zar music and songs that they have been recreating for local and global audiences for years. That night they will fill the garden with spiritual songs and much more. A screening of the short film Tales of Mazaher on the troupe’s history will also take place in parallel at the Ewart Memorial Hall (Free entry; open to the public. Register to guarantee a spot).

Thursday 7, 9 p.m.-10.30 p.m. (free admission): The Salon de l’Institut Ramadan nights opens this year the program in Alexandria with the Khaltabeta group. The group will perform songs from the rich and vast repertoire of classical Arabic music, between tradition and modernity.

Thursday 14, 9-10.30 p.m. (free entry): Tablet El Set group is made up of female percussionists and singers. They use percussion instruments like the tambourine and the darbouka to accompany their Egyptian melodies.
