SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. : ensemble theater company (ETC) plans to welcome Scott DeVine as general manager following a nationwide search. He will co-direct the affairs and operations of the organization alongside ETC’s artistic director, Jonathan Fox.
“The ETC Board of Directors decided to hire Scott after a long and exhaustive national search where he was clearly one of the most experienced theater directors on the West Coast,” the Chairman of the Board of ETC said. ETC administration Simon Williams in a statement. “Scott skillfully managed complex arts organizations and was responsible for ensuring that the theaters he served maintained a solid financial footing, particularly during difficult economic times. At ETC, we already have a strong base within the community, and we look forward, under Scott’s leadership, to years of strengthening that base and maintaining our position as the premier professional theater between Los Angeles and the Bay. DeVine has over 20 years of experience in theater management. He was until recently Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Silicon Valley Works Theater, where he led finance and operations for more than a decade. He also worked as Director of Finance and Operations for the San Francisco Girls Choir and spent two years as general manager of the Gallo Arts Center in Modesto, California. DeVine was acting executive director of the performing arts center in Purchase, NY He has also held positions with the Brooklyn Arts Council and the Akron Symphony Orchestra.

Founded in 1979, Ensemble Theater Company (ETC) is Santa Barbara’s leading professional resident theater company. The company performs up to six shows per season and attracts artists from across the country to its home at The New Vic. In 2019, ETC’s budget was $2.7 million.
